FOUNDATION LOG ARTICLE FOR JULY 2025The summer sailing camp is now in full swing and as previously mentioned in my last article it iscompletely sold out. The two-week sessions that we partner with the City of Ft. Lauderdale total 36 kidswith all but a few on scholarships. The one-week sessions reserved for CRYC kids are also sold out butthere is a wait list available. There will be 24 kids participating
The Foundation is proud to announce that we are offering another summer sailing camp in cooperation with the city of Fort Lauderdale. The camp will be held at the Coral Ridge Yacht Club Sailing and Watersports Center. As I write, the Party with a Purpose is just three weeks away, reminding me of our first event and ourgoal of 50 guests. We did reach our goal and held a very successful event in the CommodoresLounge, and we have seen it grow over the years. We set a very lofty goal of 150 guests for theParty this year and with three weeks to go we already have 133
The Foundation Day was held at the Pointe, Sunrise Bay and the Sailing Center on February 1and was a big hit. Participants enjoyed the Scuba for Good Diving, using the Foundation WaterToys, Sailing and Sailing Instruction and what I thought was the highlight of the day, TheRegatta with our kids and the St. Marks kids. This will be an intermediate sailing program available to any members in 2nd through 7th grade who have completed our summer sailing program in a previous year. Our work at the Foundation is very busy with the Summer Sailing Camp in full swing. At this writing the first three of our four sessions are completely sold out. Session number 4 which is from July 29 – August 9th still has a few spots available.

The Coral Ridge Yacht Club hosted our first “Art Regatta” at the club on April 11th. Local sailors from our club and the Lauderdale Yacht Club participated in a fun sailing regatta featuring sails decorated by local artists.
I have a lot to report in this writing. The Party with a Purpose which was held on March 23, was an enormous success financially as well as an outstanding evening with many highlights.
