Foundation Log – May 2026

The Party with a Purpose was a great success this year as always.  We had amazing support from our guests.  The gourmet meal was excellent and was accompanied by wine at each table or your choice of cocktails from the bar.  Our cocktail reception began at 6:30pm with an open bar and a fabulous assortment of hors d oeuvres including my favorite lollypop lamb chops.  Our Chef, Kitchen Staff and Servers went overboard as they do every year for this event.  The Silent Auction was better than ever and included some fabulous jewelry items, courtesy of Jon Paul Jewelers.  The Fusion Band was great with the dance floor full most of the evening.  We will be asking them back for the event again next year.

Save the date for the Party with a Purpose next year on Saturday evening, March 6, 2027

The Epicurean Dinner has become a very popular way to enjoy the ultimate dining experience and an opportunity to donate to the Foundation.  The event was originally limited to 20 guests and was announced at the Party with a Purpose prior to advertising it.  We have expanded the number of guests, but it has been capped at 40 guests in order the continue exclusivity.  We did have 40 last year and it was truly special.  This year even prior to the Party with a Purpose we have 31 reservations at this writing.  The date for the Epicurean Dinner has been set for Thursday evening, November 12, 2026.  Don’t miss it.  Truly a special evening.

The Foundation not only focuses on sailing and water sports, but education is another area that is in keeping with our mission.  We sponsored our first all day and fully accredited Boating Safety Course on March 25, and all those who participated received their official Safe Boating card that is required for many boaters.

We expect to have another Foundation Day this year with live music, waterfront activities and a fun family day.  We will be setting the date for that event shortly.

Everything is set for our summer sailing camp which is filling up quickly.  Registration for the first three sessions will be at the city.  The fourth session will be handled directly by the club. Our Activities Director, Mel Austin, can guide you through the process.  Only a few spots remain for the fourth session, so sign up now if you’re interested.

Now that the Party with a Purpose is over, we will be updating our Team Foundation Plaque to include the donations for the Party, the Epicurean Dinner and Donations, all of which qualify.  If you have any questions, please contact Roz Alford.

I mentioned in my last article that we are considering purchasing a sailboat better suited for family sailing.  Please let me know if you are interested.

As always, thank you for your continued support.
