Foundation Log – September 2023

As you read this article, we have completed our most successful sailing program with the support of our partners, The City of Ft. Lauderdale and Lauderdale Yacht Club. Our new sailing Center Provided an excellent facility in every respect. We also thank St. Marks School for providing us three Sailboats suitable for adults and more advanced sailors.  They are, as is all of our equipment, available for your use at no cost.  Our staff, volunteers, and Board members worked very hard, and we sincerely appreciate the generosity of our supporters who make this and other programs successful.

It has been a very exciting year for the Foundation, and we have accomplished a great deal including the new Sailing Center, The Sailing Camp. Upgrading our vessels and equipment, purchase of new Paddleboards and other water-related equipment which many of you saw and used at our first Demo Day.  We also went online with our new website, where you can keep up on all our activities at crycfoundation.org.

I mentioned that I would be announcing dates for our upcoming events, and they are as follows:

Foundation Day. – We plan to have Foundation Day once the Point Bar is completed since it is an outdoor event.

Sailing Camp Awards Event – Saturday – September 23, 2023.  We will be having a luncheon event which will be provided to all the kids who participated in the Sailing Program where they will receive their certificates of completion and a complimentary luncheon at the club.  Funding for the kids will be provided by the Foundation Board Members.  All members and supporters are encouraged to attend at a nominal cost.  Details to follow.

Epicurean Dinner – November 30. 2023 – Thursday evening in the Commodores Lounge – This is our third elegant fund-raising event and is limited to only 20 guests.  In the past we have limited attendance to 14 and have decided to open it up to 20 guests and have 6 reservations available.  It is truly an exceptional evening featuring our chefs’ finest creations, complimentary beverages, music and surprises.  The donation is $1,000.00 per couple and your donation is deductible to the full extend of the law and the $1000.00 will be applied to the upgrade of your TEAM FOUNDATION PLAQUE or if you do not currently have on it will be qualify you to be included.

Party with a Purpose – Saturday evening – March 23, 2024.  This is our major fund-raising event and in past years we limited participation to 60 guests.  Last year we limited the event to 100 guests and once again sold out.  We are once again going to limit it to 100 guests since we want to provide an upscale event as always.  As always, we will be serving a gourmet dinner, complimentary beverages, music and dancing, The donation is $250.00 per person tax deductible to the full extent of the law.  Truly a great evening for a great cause.

Just a reminder that there is still time to upgrade your name on the TEAM FOUNDATION PLAQUE or purchase your place for a $1000.00 donation.  Your generosity enables us to continue our good work and expand our programs as well.
