The Foundation is proud to announce that we are offering another summer sailing camp in cooperation with the city of Fort Lauderdale. The camp will be held at the Coral Ridge Yacht Club Sailing and Watersports Center. There will be four 2-week sessions to choose from on the following dates: *Camp starts at 9:00 AM and ends at 4:00 PM every day. As I write, the Party with a Purpose is just three weeks away, reminding me of our first event and ourgoal of 50 guests. We did reach our goal and held a very successful event in the CommodoresLounge, and we have seen it grow over the years. The Foundation Day was held at the Pointe, Sunrise Bay and the Sailing Center on February 1and was a big hit. When I joined CRYC in 1999 there were over 600 members and very little talk about giving backto the Community, developing a youth sailing program, or even a successful Cruisers program.Over the early 2000’s and with the hard work of some dedicated members, Cruisers becamevery successful and has continued to grow and enjoy that success to this day, but there was stilla lot of resistance to building a good Youth

This will be an intermediate sailing program available to any members in 2nd through 7th grade who have completed our summer sailing program in a previous year. The Coral Ridge Yacht Club hosted our first “Art Regatta” at the club on April 11th. Local sailors from our club and the Lauderdale Yacht Club participated in a fun sailing regatta featuring sails decorated by local artists.

It was great to see the front page of the Log that featured the 2023 Sailing Program.  I hope it piqued the interest of some of our new members in our programs.  The summer sailing camp is our major event for the year, but as most of you know we help in many areas for the benefit of the club members and the community in keeping with our mission statement.

As you read this article, we have completed our most successful sailing program with the support of our partners, The City of Ft. Lauderdale and Lauderdale Yacht Club. Our new sailing Center Provided an excellent facility in every respect. Classes now available at the Coral Ridge Yacht Club Your Foundation has arranged for CRYC members to take the following PADI Scuba Diving courses at the club. All pool sessions will be held in the club pool by PADI certified instructors from Gold Coast Scuba. Open water dives will arranged through South Florida Diving Headquarters out of the Hillsboro Inlet. It is recommended that you complete your online course work
