Foundation Log – December 2023

As we welcome our Snowbird friends back to our sunny weather and warm reception at CRYC we all look forward to a great 2024 with our friends and enjoying all the nice events at the club and the opening of THE POINT.

Your Foundation had a great year in 2023 including the most successful sailing camp ever at CRYC.  We enhanced the Club experience by providing a program for our members’ children as well as contributing to the Community with our partners in the program, The City of Ft Lauderdale and LYC.  The Sailing Center, Sailboats, Water equipment and Sailing Camp provide an additional dimension to our Club which is looked upon favorably by new and prospective members. We provide Kayaks, Paddleboards and Sailboats to you at no cost.  All that equipment has been upgraded during the past year and is available for your pleasure.

2024 Presents new challenges for the Foundation.  Of course, our first goal is to match or surpass the success of the 2023 Sailing Camp, provide further improvements to the Sailing Center including an attractive storage facility for some of our equipment, a second Whaler Coaches Boat for the Camp, establishing a rowing (crew) program in concert with St. Marks School and on our wish list would be a full time waterfront director to supervise and maintain our programs and vessels.  We will continue to support other charitable organizations with mission statements similar to ours.

Our Foundation Board, CRYC Board and Club Staff have been very supportive of our efforts as well as the generous support from you, our members.  We ask that you continue that support in the coming year.

Please support our major fund-raising event, THE PARTY WITH A PURPOSE, which will be on March 26, 2024.  Your donations are always appreciated, and we do accept boats and other marine items.

Some of our donors prefer to make their contribution in 2023 for tax purposes and would apply to the Party with a Purpose, Team Foundation Donor Plaque.  Our $1000.00 dinner for two has been moved to January 2023.  That event is open to 20 couples, and we have 4 openings left.  It is a very special event.

If you would like to make your reservations for the Party with a Purpose, the $1000.00 dinner, make your donation this year or if you have any questions, please contact me or any of our Board Members.

Remember, we are a 501 (C3) charitable organization and your donations are tax deductible to the full extent of the law.
