FIT CLUB: Paddle to Bonnet House

Your Foundation is proud to support the CRYC Fit Club. Part of our mission is to promote proficiency and safety in watersports. In order to be proficient and safe, it is important to be in good shape. We are proud to announce a fun and exciting new Fit Club event – “Paddle to Bonnet House!”

Paddle board or kayak to the Bonnet House from CRYC

Dates:

Dates are to be determined based on interest level. Please text or call Rich Barnhart at 954-980-7795 if you are interested. We would love to have our first Bonnet House event Spring 2026.

Itinerary:

The plan is to have a guided tour to Bonnet House leaving from the CRYC Sailing Center at 10:30 AM on a Saturday or Sunday. You are welcome to use the Foundation paddle boards and kayaks, or use your own equipment. We will paddle together as a group across the Intracoastal where we will be free to explore the Bonnet House grounds before returning to the club for an optional lunch at the Pointe. Brian Galton, the owner of Sunrise PaddleBoards, will be our guide.

The cost per paddler is $30 including your pass to Bonnet House. If you would like a lesson before the tour, you have two options. You can go to Sunrise Paddleboards and sign up for a lesson there. If you prefer, you can show up at 9:30 AM on the day of the event for a lesson before we leave. Lessons on the day of the event are free, but a $20 gratuity is encouraged. If you are brand new to kayaking or paddle boarding, then we strongly encourage you to take a lesson at Sunrise Paddleboards. Crossing the Intracoastal can be a little challenging for beginners, but is perfectly safe in the no-wake zone with the proper guidance.

If you are interested in participating, please call or text Rich Barnhart at 954-980-7795. We will need to know your experience level, if you have your own equipment and if you would like a lesson before the event.
