Foundation Log Article – December 2022

I AM PLEASED TO ANNOUNCE THAT YOUR FOUNDATION BOARD HAS UNANIMOUSLY APPROVED A MOTION TO PROVIDE $50,000.00 FOR THE IMPROVEMENT OF THE AREA ON THE NORTHWEST PORTION OF THE CLUB PROPERTY ON SUNRISE BAY.  THE IMPROVEMENTS WILL INCLUDE AN ALUMINUM FRAME COMPOSITE FLOATING DOCK WITH A RAMP TO PROVIDE ACCESS TO THE BAY. THE PROJECT WILL INCLUDE REPAIRS TO THE EXISTING SEAWALL, A NEW SHED TO HOUSE EQUIPMENT AND SUPPLIES AND A DECK AND RACKS TO HOUSE OUR SAILING FLEET.  WE FEEL THESE IMPROVEMENTS WILL INCREASE EFFICIENT USE OF THE AREA, BE AESTHETICALLY PLEASING AND PROVIDE EASY ACCESS TO THE BAY FOR OUR FUTURE SAILING PROGRAMS AND FOR RECREATIONAL PURPOSES FOR KIDS AND ADULTS AS WELL.  THE FOUNDATION HAS ALSO PROVIDED $5000.00 FOR THE USE OF THE POOL FOR THE SCUBA4GOOD EVENTS THAT TAKE PLACE ONE MORNING EACH MONTH AS WELL AS A DONATION TO THE US COAST GUARD FOUNDATION FOR HURRICANE IDA RELIEF.

WE CONTINUE TO MOVE FORWARD IN OUR EFFORTS WITH THE CITY OF FT LAUDERDALE AND LAUDERDALE YACHT CLUB IN AN EFFORT TO PROVIDE A COMMUNITY SAILING PROGRAM.  OF COURSE, WE ARE ALSO WORKING TO EXPAND OUR CRYC SAILING PROGRAM FOR 2023. OUR PROGRAM WILL BENEFIT FROM THE SAILING CENTER IMPROVEMENTS AND IMPROVE ACCESS TO THE BAY FOR OUR PADDLEBOARDS, KAYAKS AND SAILBOATS.

OUR PAST AND FUTURE PROJECTS ARE MADE POSSIBLE BY YOUR DONATIONS AND THE SUPPORT OF OUR FUND-RAISING EFFORTS.  YOUR DONATIONS ARE ALWAYS WELCOME AND WE HOPE YOU WILL ATTEND OUR EVENTS. OUR FIRST FOUNDATION DAY IS SCHEDULED FOR FEBRUARY 11TH AT POOLSIDE AND OUR EXPANDED PARTY WITH A PURPOSE WILL BE ON SATURDAY EVENING MARCH 25, 2023.

THE BRICKS THAT WERE DISPLAYED AT THE OLD FOUNTAIN ARE BEING DISTRIBUTED TO THE DONORS.  WE HAVE ORDERED THE BRONZE PLAQUE THAT WILL DISPLAY THE DONORS MESSAGE. IT WILL BE LOCATED ON THE WALL TO THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE MAIN CLUBHOUSE ENTRANCE. FOR THOSE OF YOU WHO WOULD LIKE TO BE INCLUDED IN THE PLAQUE OR WOULD LIKE TO UPGRADE, I WILL BE ANNOUNCING SOME PACKAGES THAT WILL INCLUDE SOME EXCITING OPTIONS FOR YOUR TAX-DEDUCTIBLE DONATION. YOU MAY WANT TO TAKE YOU TAX DEDUCTION IN PRIOR TO DECEMBER 31, 2022.  IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS, PLEASE CONTACT ME AT ANY TIME.
