Foundation Log – April 2025

As I write, the Party with a Purpose is just three weeks away, reminding me of our first event and our
goal of 50 guests. We did reach our goal and held a very successful event in the Commodores
Lounge, and we have seen it grow over the years. We set a very lofty goal of 150 guests for the
Party this year and with three weeks to go we already have 133 confirmed reservations. We
have also received generous donations from some who are not able to attend the event.
Hopefully you were able to attend but if not, you can still support our mission with a donation
of any amount. There is a great deal of enthusiasm for our club, and we feel the Foundation
not only benefits the Community as a whole but also is a great asset to CRYC.

We have received and signed the agreements with the City of Ft Lauderdale for our 2025
Summer Sailing Camp. We have scheduled three two-week sessions to begin on June 16
through August 1, 2025. These sessions will be open to all participants, and I would suggest if
you would like to have your child or grandchild participate, please make your reservations
early. The cost for each participant if they are a resident of Broward Country is $476.00, and
non-residents fee is $722.00 for a two-week session. This year we will have two one-week
sessions for our members children only, the first a week before the start of our joint program
with the city and the second after the final session. If you would like to sign up for any of the
sessions please contact our Activities Director, Donna Wagoner at Ext 206 and she will walk you
through the process. We are looking forward to another very successful summer program.

I am sure you are receiving emails from Meredith Campbell with information on the
Sunday/Funday Sailing for the kids. Please remember, your kids do not have to be experienced
sailors. This is all about Fun, Learning and Safety for the kids. Everyone is encouraged to
participate.

As always, we are enjoying a great partnership and support with St. Marks School. We have
another Regatta with them on April 13 th . Come out and watch the kids sail in the Bay. You will
enjoy it. We will also host the Star Art Regatta on April 17 th . It is a beautiful display of Painted
Sails on Sunrise Bay and is quite a spectacular event. Bleachers are set up across the Bay in
Birch State Park. Our members have the best seats in the house at our property or the Pointe.

Your Foundation is enjoying great success, as is our club. We appreciate your support which
enables us to continue our good work.

Foundation Log – March 2025

The Foundation Day was held at the Pointe, Sunrise Bay and the Sailing Center on February 1and was a big hit. Participants enjoyed the Scuba for Good Diving, using the Foundation WaterToys, Sailing and Sailing Instruction and what I thought was the highlight of the day, TheRegatta with our kids and the St. Marks kids. After all it is largely about the kids.I have received comments and calls from members
